Earth, unlike some of our neighbors, is a beautiful place. And the only way to see how truly beautiful it is, is from space. Luckily, that view from 700 kilometers up is only a few clicks away thanks to Google Maps, and as of today, that view is crisper than ever. That’s thanks to a big update that Google Maps is getting right now.
As Google notes, Maps will now look better than ever thanks to new imagery that the company has collected from NASA and the US Geological Survey. At first glance you might have not noticed it, but the images that compose Google Earth and Satellite view are now clearer, crisper and feature better color reproduction than ever. Google says it mined through a whole petabyte of data to find the clearest, crispest pixels to add to its services.
As you can see for yourselves, the new images do look better than they ever have, and it’s great to see a view of our little blue marble get a bit more detailed and useful as our technology progresses.
