Microsoft"s Yammer has seen a number of new features and integrations added over the past few months and years. Today, in time for its Build conference, the company has announced a new integration with Outlook, which lets users interact with Yammer communities directly from their inbox.
The feature piggybacks on Outlook"s adaptive cards and actionable messages, and it also requires e-mail notifications to be active for Yammer activity. With this capability, it"s possible to respond to comments on Yammer posts and participate in conversations directly from within messages you receive in Outlook.
Currently, the feature is available in Outlook on the web, but it"s also rolling out to dedicated Outlook apps on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. It will be activated automatically once it"s rolled out to each organization.
Yammer has become an increasingly relevant component of Microsoft"s corporate communication solutions. Recently, a Yammer app was released for Teams, bringing Yammer communities into the instant messaging service. Recently, the company also revamped the Yammer app for mobile devices.
