Microsoft today announced some new features that are coming to Outlook.com. Before you get excited, this is only for users that have been migrated to the new Outlook.com. If you"re still on the old version, you"ll just have to wait until Microsoft clears up its murky schedule of when it wants to upgrade the rest of us.
You"ll now be able to integrate your Google Drive account with Outlook.com by selecting the option to add an attachment, choosing the Drive option, and signing in. Also, if someone sends you a file from Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides, you"ll be able to open them from within Outlook, and if you have the proper permissions, you can edit them.
You"ll now be able to sign into your Facebook account in the same way that you did with Google Drive. Once you do, you"ll be able to browse through your Facebook photos - which will be in the same albums that they are on Facebook - and attach them to your emails.
Finally, Outlook.com will make it easier for you to find attachments in long conversations. You"ll see an icon in a long thread, and clicking it will give you a dropdown list of all of the attachments from it.
Microsoft says that today"s new features will be rolling out within the next few weeks to those on the new Outlook.com. The company claims that over 90% of users already have the new experience.
