OxygenOS 3.5.4 rolls out to the OnePlus 3T - but still no sign of Android 7.0 Nougat

The latest OS update is now available for the OnePlus 3T - the company"s newest flagship - but there"s still no sign of its Android 7.0 Nougat update for the device.

OnePlus has begun rolling out OxygenOS 3.5.4 for the 3T today, based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. As the incremental version number suggests, this update is a minor one, bringing a range of fixes and improvements:

  • Optimizations for US-TMO Network
  • Optimizations to Reduce Lag when Battery is below 5%
  • Optimized Bluetooth Connectivity for Mazda Cars
  • Optimized Battery Saving Mode: GPS and Orientation Preferences will be restored when Battery Saving Mode is closed.
  • Fixed Flashlight Usability Issue in WhatsApp
  • Increased System Stability
  • Implemented Various Bug Fixes

OnePlus says that the update "will reach a small percentage of users today", with a "broader rollout in a few days".

But if you were hoping that the OnePlus 3T would get a taste of Nougat today, you"ll have to keep waiting. OnePlus released its first OxygenOS beta based on Android 7.0 last month, but it only made that preview available for the OnePlus 3. Nonetheless, the company has promised that its full Nougat update will be released for both the OnePlus 3 and the newer 3T before the end of the year.
