Today, OnePlus released a new Open Beta for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. While the firm has done a pretty good job of supporting its handsets over the past year, the new release is important, mainly because it features support for Google"s Project Treble.
Not only does the new OxygenOS Open Beta 13 for the OnePlus 5 and Open Beta 11 for OnePlus 5T support Project Treble, it also offers user interface enhancements like being able to tweak accent colors. The Launcher has been improved, with better search tags in the app drawer, a "new installs" category, and more. The Weather app has also been improved, offering a new design that integrates the forecast into a single area.
While this is certainly exciting news, these new releases are betas, and as such, could have issues. If problems do arise, they should be reported via the OnePlus forum. If you are running a stable build and would like to try a beta, be sure to follow the instructions on the OnePlus download page carefully. Of course, before starting anything, make sure to back up your data. Per usual, Neowin is not responsible if your device becomes damaged or unusable.
