Pal Strap gives the Pebble Time and Time Steel GPS and extra battery life

When the initial Pebble was offered on Kickstarter, it broke records for funding and became one of the most successful Kickstarter projects for its time. It"s follow-up, the Pebble Time and the Pebble Time Steel offered a much needed update to the original formula and promised the support of third party watch bands. Today, we get a sample of a watch band that will not only add functionality to the Pebble, but will also offer extended battery life.

The Pal Strap isn"t your average watch strap, but instead gives the Pebble the capability to utilize GPS. Furthermore, the watch strap also offers a 250mAh battery, which can extend the life of your Pebble up to seven days. The company behind the strap has been working closely with the folks at Pebble to make the integration as seamless as possible.

Since Pal offers its own GPS receiver in the band, users will be able to gain tracking without the need of their mobile device. The watch strap will hold 24 hours worth of data that can be offloaded to a smartphone with the corresponding app.

The Pal Strap is now being funded on Kickstarter with a starting price of $65 USD and is expected to ship worldwide starting in October 2016.
