Colossal Order seems to be far from being finished with Cities: Skylines expansions, as the studio and Paradox Interactive announced "Industries" today. Being called "one of the most in-depth expansions" in the game"s history, the new addition will focus on massively expanding the industrial side of things.
The expansion will bring along the ability to have custom-made industrial zones with unique factories, where players can build supply chains for harvesting, processing, storage, and production of four different resources. These can then be shipped to commercial zones or exported out of the city.
Cities will need to be well equipped to handle the new arrivals. All the new industrial plants like "Extractors, Warehouse Facilities, Processing and Auxiliary Buildings," and more will require a massive workforce, while also drawing large amounts of power and water.
In addition, Colossal is implementing a cargo airport, postal services, new policies focused on industry, new hats for Chirper, as well as five new maps that are tailored just right for the new expansion"s content.
As usual, there will be a free update landing alongside the expansion to all base game owners as well. This will bring in toll booths, a new radio channel named Synthetic Dawn, the ability to preserve building styles by making them historical sites, and more.
Cities: Skylines - Industries expansion will be available on October 23 this year for Windows, Linux, and macOS systems. Industries has a $14.99 price tag and pre-orders are available right now via the Paradox Store.
Also, for any builders that are looking forward to jumping straight in, the developer will also be publishing in-depth tutorial videos regarding the expansion until the launch date. So keep an eye on the Paradox Interactive YouTube channel for that.
