PayPal has released version 6.7.0 of its iOS app, its main feature being the ability to make payments right from Apple’s voice-controlled assistant, Siri. Payments can be sent via Siri in 30 countries, in various languages.
In a blog post, PayPal said:
“For iPhone and iPad users running iOS 10, making a payment has never been easier – PayPal users can now send a request money via a voice command with Siri. Simply say, “Hey Siri, send Bill $50 using PayPal.” Voila! One less thing to check off the to-do list this holiday season.”
After issuing the command, PayPal will bring up a card showing how much money you’ll be sending, to whom, and the payment source. Once you’re happy just press send or hit cancel, or say “yes” or “no” when Siri asks if you want to send the payment.
The new functionality is available in the following countries and languages: Australia, Austria, Belgium (French and Dutch), Brazil, Canada (English and French), China, Denmark, Finland (Finnish), France, Germany, Hong Kong (Cantonese), India, Israel (Hebrew), Italy, Japan, Malaysia (Malay), Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia (Arabic), Singapore (English), Spain, Sweden, Switzerland (French, German, and Italian), Thailand, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates (Arabic) and United States.
