One of the most distinctive features of Microsoft"s Bing.com Internet search page is that its main home page changes its background image every day. Usually, its a beautiful high res nature photograph, although Microsoft has turned the page into a moving video image on occasion. Today, Microsoft announced that those Bing background images can now be downloaded directly to a PC.
In a post on the official Bing blog, Microsoft said it has added this feature due to high demand from its users. It states, "Now when you visit Bing you’ll see a download icon at the right hand side of your screen. Simply click on the button, connect with Facebook and you can download the image to your computer. We also offer a new way for you to view the homepage in full-screen mode, by clicking the intersecting arrows."
This feature is apparently just for Bing users in the US at the moment. There"s no word on when it might be available in other countries.
Earlier this year, Microsoft released what it called Bing Desktop, a program that, among other things, let users automatically download the Bing.com home page image of the day and make it their Windows desktop.
