Pebble, a smartwatch with an e-ink display that can last up to a week on a single charge, has announced a new firmware and iOS app update that brings several welcomed new features to the device.
With firmware version 2.2, Pebble owners can finally raise and lower the volume of their connected device via their Pebble. As an added bonus iOS users will be able to enjoy a richer experience with their music app thanks to the fixes with the layout and an added track progress bar.
Another major change is the ability to re-order the Launcher Menu. This will give you better access to menu items that you use more frequently. The Pebble team has also increased the vibration time for the alarm from one minute to ten.
Pebble has long been a driving force of wearables being one of the original wearable devices that spawned from a Kickstarter project in 2012. At CES 2014, Pebble announced a new version of its highly beloved watch, the Pebble Steel. The new device comes in a thinner metal body, adds Corning Gorilla Glass, and is available in a choice of silver and matte black.
The Pebble Firmware and iOS Pebble App 2.2 are both available now. While the updates have been made public, Pebble has warned that it could take some time before you see the them on your device.
