Microsoft recently introduced the Universal Skype experience for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile with new Messaging, People and Video apps and now the company has delivered a UI update for these apps.
The Windows Store listing of the apps does not contain a changelog for the latest update even though the version takes a major jump from 1.11.19004.0 to 2.12.9011.0. However, the folks at Windows Central have reported on some of the changes that were noticed in the new build.
There are a few UI changes in "phablet mode" such as larger contact pictures and an indicator for active message threads. Additionally, users can now send animated emoji using the Messaging app for Skype.
According to WinBeta, similar enhancements are also visible in the latest People app, which now features a smaller AppBar and individual refresh button for each contact. The version of the application has been bumped from 3351 to 3451.
Both the updates are still rolling out and may not be available worldwide immediately. However users can check the following Windows Store links: Messaging + Skype / People.
