Back at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, Philips announced an update for its Hue app to control the Philips smart bulbs in your house.
Today, as Android Police reports, the company is finally delivering on that promise with version 3.0. The update is rolling out to the public, but it"s possible that not everyone will see it right away.
The new update brings a completely redesigned UI with more vivid colors and new icons, plus new features such as shortcuts to change the color and brightness of lights, new color pickers, and 30 new scenes. A new scene editor is also on board and you can tap and hold on a light or room to switch between one of the four most recently used scenes.
Philips has been trying to use Hue to create more immersive experiences in all sorts of scenarios. Last year, the company announced Hue Entertainment, a new service to integrate its lights with content such as movies, using vivid colors to match what you"re watching.
At CES this year, the company said it would expand on that by integrating Hue with gaming experiences, starting by connecting to Razer"s Chroma lighting for an even more immersive gaming environment.
