Slowly, but surely, the app-gap is being filled on Windows Phone, and the latest addition to the platform is one that users have been awaiting for quite some time. Today, Microsoft"s Joe Belfiore announced that Pinterest has finally made it to Windows Phone.
Pinterest describes itself as "a tool to help you discover and plan things you want to do". It is essentially a service that allows you to save visual bookmarks - or "pins" - to create virtual scrapbooks for projects, trips, events, or just particular interests and topics. Pinterest also allows users to share their hand-picked collections and ideas with others via their "pinboards".
The new app launches today on Windows Phone as a beta, which means that many features that users expect may not yet be available, and some bugs may still need to be exterminated. Nonetheless, its launch will no doubt be welcomed by many, who have until now had to rely on third-party alternatives such as Scrapbook for Pinterest (formerly Pinspiration).
You can download Pinterest from the Windows Phone Store (available for WP8 and WP8.1) now.
