Pixel 4a prototype hands-on video shows off the device's design and specs

Certain details of Google’s mid-range Pixel device for this year, dubbed the Pixel 4a, have leaked in the past giving us a hint of what to expect from the phone. Rumors point to the device, codenamed ‘sunfish’, running a Snapdragon 730 chipset. Reports also suggest that unlike the 3a XL, there would be no Pixel 4a XL offered this year.

Now, a new hands-on video of what looks to be a prototype of the upcoming Pixel 4a has surfaced, providing the clearest look yet at the device. The video also confirms previous reports of the device running a Snapdragon 730 with 6GB of RAM and a FullHD+ display at 5.81-inches. The front-facing camera is placed in a punch-hole setup aligned to the left of the screen.

The device also looks to sport a capacitive fingerprint scanner at the back of the device, corroborating previous reports. As for the design, the phone looks to sport a simple look, with a rectangular housing at the back that employs the camera module – a single camera lens and the flash. Interestingly, in line with earlier reports, the device indeed comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other specs that are visible in the AIDA64 app include the battery capacity – which is a 3,080mAh unit. These mid-range specs are sure to help Google pit this device as a quality mid-range offering. It would not be surprising if the company boasts of the photography prowess of the phone owing to its superior computational photography abilities.
