Subscription services like PlayStation Plus offer a wide variety of benefits to gamers, be it free games, or dedicated servers on one of your favorite games. Sony has joined the likes of Microsoft, in offering free playtime on these services, in a bid to get you to sign up for it for the long haul.
Starting tomorrow, Sony will give just such an opportunity for gamers who might not have enjoyed the benefits PlayStation Plus offers, by opening it up for free for five whole days - that is if you already burned through the 14-day free trial. During this time, gamers can join their friends on the beaches of Normandy in Call of Duty: WW2, or any other multiplayer focused game.
The service will open up for free to all gamers on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita from November 15, 10 AM GMT and will run until November 20. To access the service your console will need to be connected to the internet, and it will only allow multiplayer access.
PlayStation Plus is a gaming service which will run you $9.99 per month in the U.S., or $59.99 for a yearly subscription. Members enjoy a slew of other benefits beyond multiplayer access, including the ability to download and play some of the free PlayStation Plus titles available each month. This includes the PlayStation VR horror title Until Dawn: Rush of Blood that is available for download right now.
In other PlayStation news, the company recently announced a new rewards program that allows you to cash-in the trophies you have unlocked, giving you up to 1,000 points for 10 Platinum Trophies. These points can then be exchanged for a PlayStation Store voucher, which can then be used towards the purchase of a new game or movie.
