Sony has already announced it will be giving people who purchase the upcoming PlayStation 4 access to the premium PlayStation Plus service for 30 days, along with other extras. Today, the company announced that PS Plus subscribers will be able to download and and play two launch games for the PlayStation 4 for free.
The official PlayStation blog reveals the new PS Plus free games for PS4 owners will be the 2D sci-fi shooter "Resogun" and the puzzle/platformer game "Contrast." In addition, PS Plus users can download a starter pack for "Warframe," the free-to-play sci-fi third person action game that"s a console exclusive for the PS4 (it was originally released for the PC). The Starter Pack contains a bunch of in-game content that will be immediately available to access for PS Plus users.
As we have reported before, PS Plus is required to play multiplayer online games on the PS4, and normally starts at $9.99 a month. PS4 owners will also get 30 days of free access to Sony"s Music Unlimited streaming service and $10 in credits to use for anything in the PlayStation Store. So far, Microsoft has yet to announce any plans to offer free Xbox Live Gold access for people who purchase their upcoming Xbox One console.
