Bethesda-owned Arkane Studios announced its timed-exclusive FPS shooter title Deathloop at the E3 2019 games exhibition last year. The upcoming first-person shooter was initially slated for a holiday 2020 launch for the PlayStation 5 and later PC. Eventually, Arkane had to delay the next-gen video game to the second quarter of 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Up until very recently, there had been no mention about an exact release date for the action-adventure title to be published by Bethesda. This changed today when the PS Store in New Zealand inadvertently unveiled the launch date, as reported by Gematsu. The online listing for Deathloop is currently displaying a release date for the region, as seen in the screenshot below.
According to the official listings for the standard and deluxe editions of the shooting game, Deathloop is most likely going to release on May 21, 2021, in New Zealand. It is likely that this will be the same or a similar date for the rest of the world as well.
At the moment, Arkane Studios or parent company Bethesda are yet to comment on the supposed revelation. For now, all we can do is speculate until the release date is officially confirmed by the video game developer and publisher.
