Pokémon GO could be coming to Windows 10 Mobile, but don't get too excited... yet

Just a few hours ago, we posted a list of five games we wish were available on Windows phones, one of which was Pokémon GO. Now, in a surprising turn of events, it appears that the augmented reality title could finally be making its way to the Windows Store.

When queried about the availability of Niantic"s Pokémon GO on Windows 10 Mobile, a technical support representative on Microsoft"s Feedback Hub replied that the company has been receiving an "overwhelming" number of requests for the app and that it is "looking into options [...] to fulfill this request". Indeed, more than 70,000 people have already signed a Change.org petition in an effort to persuade the developer to bring the title to Windows phones.

But before you start jumping in excitement, do bear in mind that this is a response from a support representative who may or may not possess knowledge of Microsoft"s internal communications with developers. Indeed, we are yet to see an official Snapchat app to make its debut on the Windows Store even though a few customer support representatives from Microsoft confirmed it almost a month ago.

With that being said, it is important to note that this might not be a standard response - however unlikely - and the company could be collaborating with Niantic to bring Pokémon GO to Windows phone devices. We have reached out to both the parties for confirmation and will update you when (and if) they respond.
