Pokémon GO introduces creatures from the Sinnoh region

The Pokémon GO team has announced that Pokémon from the Sinnoh region will be available in the mobile game beginning this week. For those trying to recollect which games included the Sinnoh region, they were Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and later, Platinum, released in 2006/2007 and 2008/2009, respectively. The games were interesting as they were the first flagship Pokémon games on the Nintendo DS platform, bringing significant graphics improvements over their predecessors.

In its announcement, the Pokémon GO team said:

“Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will be making their way to Pokémon GO in waves! So, you can look forward to discovering even more Pokémon over the next few weeks appearing in the wild, hatching from Eggs, and battling in raids. Stay tuned to our official channels for updates about new Pokémon, new features, and expansions to existing features like Pokémon storage and more!”

With the expansion, players will be able to catch three new starter Pokémon from the Sinnoh region; these consist of Turtwig, Chichar, and Piplup. As mentioned in the quote above, Pokémon will be rolled out in waves so if you don’t find a certain Pokémon, there’s a chance it hasn’t been rolled out yet.

Be sure to check out this thread over on The Silph Road subreddit, that will show you which Pokémon are already available and their spawn behaviour.
