Founded in 2007, Todoist is one of the more popular cross-platform task management apps. The app has now launched Todoist Boards which offers users and teams a more flexible way to organize and visualize their tasks and projects.
Todoist Boards aims to make collaboration easy using Kanban boards, a popular project management methodology. Kanban is a lean method to manage and improve work across human systems. A Kanban board is one of the tools that can be used to implement Kanban to manage work at a personal or organizational level.
Boards essentially flip the traditional to-do list on its head by visualizing tasks as cards that can be dragged across customizable sections.
Like most Kanban boards, Todoist Boards offers a horizontal multi-column layout that allows users to drag and drop tasks wherever they need them, add and rearrange sections, and follow a project’s progress from start to finish. Users can view a project as a Board or switch back to any other view.
Todoist Boards is rolling out now to everyone across mobile, desktop, web, smartwatch, and browser for all tiers of subscription - free, Premium, and Business.
This announcement also props up Todoist into the B2B space and the new versatile task and project management experience will have it compete with other visual project management services like Trello or Asana, instead of the basic to do apps.
