Valve seems to be running out of writers rather quickly, as just a month after Half-Life 2 Episodes writer Chet Faliszek left the company, Jay Pinkerton has also departed. As Rock Paper Shotgun reported, Pinkerton"s exit was discovered via a Facebook update on his timeline, seen below.
Pinkerton was known for his comedic writing style and was a co-writer alongside Eric Wolpaw (who also left Valve earlier this year) for Portal 2. He was also the brain behind Team Fortress 2"s popular "Meet theā¦" video series.
An official response from neither Valve nor Pinkerton regarding the news has appeared just yet, but a statement is probably not in the pipeline, considering Valve"s well-known trait of being silent.
With Valve"s story focused games seemingly behind them, the company"s current biggest games are Dota 2, Counter-Strike: GO, and Team Fortress 2, with all of them being multiplayer-centric titles. Dota 2 is, however, receiving a co-op campaign as part of this year"s Battle Pass.
Keep in mind that Valve isn"t completely done with new game developments, as the studio is said to be working on three new VR games. It was also revealed that Valve hired Kerbal Space Program developers some months back, although as for what project they would be working on remains up in the air.
