The multiplayer beta of Halo 5: Guardians began this week, but the full game, including the greatly anticipated single-player campaign, will not be released until the fourth quarter of 2015 - but Microsoft has already opened pre-orders for the game, despite its launch remaining a long way off.
To entice gamers into ordering it ahead of its release, Microsoft is offering exclusive freebies to those who reserve their copy of Halo 5. Three pre-order editions are available:
Standard Edition | $59.99
Includes the game, along with a poster exclusive to those who pre-order. The poster will only be available in limited quantities at participating retailers.
Limited Edition | $99.99
Includes everything in the Standard Edition, as well as “new digital content to enhance Spartan combat and exclusive items wrapped in a uniquely designed steel book.” Only available at participating retailers, while stocks last.
Limited Collector’s Edition | $249.99
Yep, you read that correctly – two hundred and fifty bucks. Includes everything in the Limited Edition, plus “additional content such as a commemorative numbered statue designed by 343 Industries.” Microsoft says that it will share more details on the design later. As with the Limited Edition, the Collector’s Edition will only be available at participating retailers while stocks last.
Full details of pricing and availability in other regions be announced later.
