ProtonMail 3.10 has begun rolling out to users around the world with several new features, notably a Professional plan which is oriented towards bringing secure hosted email for small and medium sized organisations with up to 50 users. The other features which were introduced, such as auto-responder and catch-all email, are only available for paying customers.
With ProtonMail Professional, organisations can set admins, add their own domains, and create individual user accounts for employees. The Professional plan starts from €6.25 and allows admins to pick the exact number of employees that they want to attach to an account; the price goes up for each additional user the organisation wants to add. The Professional plan is the company"s first foray into bringing end-to-end encrypted email to organisations.
With ProtonMail 3.10, support has been added for catch-all email. To take advantage of this feature you must be a customer on the Professional or Visionary plans. With this feature, Custom Domain users have the option to receive all mail sent to their domain, even if it was sent to an email address that has not been setup within their account.
The next feature is auto-responder. This nifty tool is available for ProtonMail Plus, Professional and Visionary customers. The function is pretty self-explanatory, users can set a personalised auto-response message, useful for those going on holiday or simply need a break from their inbox without colleagues getting worried about the absence of email responses.
ProtonMail Plus, Professional, and Visionary users are able to create advanced custom filters with the Sieve programming language. While ProtonMail"s default filter options will be good enough for most users, with Sieve you can create more advanced filters allowing for nearly infinite personalisation capabilities.
The last addition worth mentioning is the inclusion of top-up credits. For those who don"t want to set up recurring payments for premium features you can now add credit to your account which can be used to pay for things when you like. Credits can be added to your account with a bank card or via PayPal.
