The VPN provider, ProtonVPN, has announced that it has expanded its Secure Core architecture to 12 more countries, bringing the total to 23 locations. Secure Core offers VPN users an additional layer of security by sending traffic through a hardened server before it heads off to an exit server. Today’s announcement pertains to the exit server part of the equation, there are now more to choose from so that you can get better connection speeds.
Explaining the benefit of the Secure Core network, the firm said that an attacker “will only be able to trace your traffic back to the edge of our Secure Core network, protecting your device’s true IP address”.
The list of countries that have been added in this round of upgrades includes Austria, Brazil, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, India, Ireland, Norway, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, and Singapore. They join Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, and the United States.
