Since Konami"s official announcement regarding the cancelation of its upcoming horror game, Silent Hills, starring The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus, things haven"t been going too well for the company.
The Japanese publisher is facing constant ridicule on social platforms, and there are ongoing rumors about the game"s developer, Hideo Kojima, leaving the company later this year as well. The canceled game"s demo, Silent Hills P.T, was also removed from the PSN store yesterday.
While most of the franchise"s fans are angry regarding the cancelation of Silent Hills, others are busy trying to make some money off it. With Silent Hills P.T. - which has been available as a free download since 2014 - now removed from the store, Play Station 4s with the teaser pre-installed are being sold for up to $4800 online.
On eBay, one person is selling his PS4 with the teaser installed for £1,000 (~$1550). Others are also auctioning the same products for $1300 and $1800, classifying them as "RARE". There are several other deals available on the site as well with similarly insane prices.
Yet another seller has put up his PS4 with P.T installed for £3100 (~$4800), with a pinch of humor, stating that:
This listing is to prove that people will pay stupid money for stupid things.......
This Playstation has the PT demo installed on it (which is apparently "rare" and as a nice bonus I will throw in an extra controller camera and game......but let"s be honest the PT demo is clearly worth the money of this listing alone -_- (killzone is the included game)
So help fund me another Playstation and buy this joke of an auction, well done you fool of a took, I don"t send to Nigeria or Iraq so don"t be stupid, although something tells me that you looking at this pretty much clears that question up for me.
If you buy this you will receive the highest honor of a positive feedback from myself :-)
You"re welcome! :-)
Oh yeah the console is boxed!Postage is not free! I am not a charity........clearly just over 3k does not cover the cost of postage!
With that being said, absurd prices for discontinued and rare items aren"t exactly new - an iPhone 5s with Flappy Bird installed was auctioned for nearly $100,000, an iPod and a "Super-rare SNES game" have also been sold for $90,000 each.
