PSA: A big Store bug in Windows 10 Mobile build 10080 has now been fixed

Some of the big features that came alongside Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 10080 are not actually part of the OS; they’re the new apps that can be downloaded through the Beta Store. Luckily, one of the big problems that was plaguing the Store has now been fixed.

The latest phone build of Windows 10 Mobile, which was released last week, is not the most stable of operating systems. Despite its numerous new features, it’s also filled with bugs and issues that can make using the OS very difficult. One of these was the Beta Store bug that stopped users from downloading all the new apps that came alongside the new build.

Users would often be greeted by a ‘Working…” message that would never disappear and apps would never download to the phone. This meant that testing out the new Office Universal apps, or the new Xbox, Camera or Music and Video preview apps was impossible - and these are some of the most important additions in this build.

@Rateiosu What is it doing? The "working..." issue should be fixed for Store downloads. Did you try a reboot?

Luckily Gabe Aul informed everyone that, as of a couple of hours ago, this problem should be fixed and apps should download and install easily enough. Indeed, in our testing we found that the Office apps have indeed been fixed and were quickly installed without any issues. Unfortunately, it looks like ‘the fix’ hasn’t spread far enough just yet as the Xbox, Music and Video preview apps are still hampered by the same problem. This may be fixed in the next few hours as well.

In either case, if you were having issues downloading the new apps you might want to try again, though as noted above, your mileage may vary.
