Sony has released another firmware upgrade for their ever popular PSP handheld console. This brings the version number upto 2.50.
The three main features of this updated firmware are:
- DRM Support for copyright-protected video content.
- Streaming video over wireless networks is also now possible using Sony"s LocationFree technology.
- The loophole that allowed users of the 2.00 firmware to downgrade to 1.5 so they could play homebrew software and pirated games has been fixed.
The rest of the updates are bug fixes and the ability to set the consoles time from the internet. The update should be available worldwide soon with US and Japan already having access.
