Following its massive success on PC, PlayerUnknown"s Battlegrounds finally made its way over to the Xbox One yesterday as part of the Xbox Game Preview program. The release has not been a smooth one, as just like the PC version, the Xbox port has been plagued with frame rate issues.
Now, thanks to a Reddit user who managed to bring up a graphics settings menu on the Xbox One version, which should be very familiar to PC players, we get to have a peek at what settings the port is running on. The options menu is accessible by plugging in a USB keyboard and pressing the "O" key while running the game.
As seen on the right, the settings menu shows that the game seems to be running on the Very Low graphics quality preset at 1080p resolution. This has been confirmed by other Xbox One owners.
Note that this is on a regular Xbox One, as owners of the new Xbox One X report that their settings menu display some different values. On the upgraded Microsoft console, the graphics quality preset is set to Medium, and the game runs at 3840 x 2160 resolution, otherwise known as 4K.
Sadly, it doesn’t appear that Xbox One players can tweak any of the settings, as only the open and close key works while in this menu. Its likely that accessibility to the menu will get disabled at some point, but it would be interesting to see how the graphics settings change over time as Bluehole optimizes the game.
