In case you missed it on Sunday, Rick Johnson of Raven Software updated his .plan file to warn gamers of a Virus masquerading as the Quake 4 demo. Johnson says that since the demo hasn"t been released yet, this fact alone should be a good indication to gamers that something smells a little funky. The demo is actually the W32.Eira.57344@mm virus, which is described by the boys at Symantec as an "Internet worm which carries a file-overwriting payload. The file name of this worm suggests that it is a demo of the Quake4 game, but it is not.
