Following Rage 2"s live-action announcement trailer from yesterday, Bethesda has now delivered a gameplay trailer as well as more information on how exactly is the game shaping up. The game is slated to launch in Spring 2019, with id Software, which developed the original, and Avalanche Studios, the architect behind the Just Cause series and Mad Max, serving as co-developers to make up what the publisher calls a "AAAAAA game."
In the upcoming sequel, players will be placed in the shoes of Walker, the last remaining member of an elite fighting group named Rangers, who will have an "abundance of upgradeable weapons and toys" as well as "special Nanotrite abilities."
In a newly released blog post, Bethesda describes the fully open-world sequel"s setting as follows:
Mankind is in peril. In the decades following an asteroid’s devastation, most of the earth has become an unforgiving wildland where bloodthirsty factions vie for control of precious resources. Pockets of civilization have emerged to claim their space in the world, but the tentative peace they’ve established is being threatened.
Rage 2 is headed for PC, Xbox One, as well as PlayStation 4, and it will also be one of the games that will be showcased in Bethesda"s E3 presentation next month.
