Ubisoft gave a small peak at the new content incoming to Rainbow Six Siege with its Operation Grim Sky major update earlier this month, but today at the game"s Six Major tournament finals, the company showed off in full what it has in store.
The gameplay video below shows off the newly reworked Hereford Base and the two new operators, Maverick and Clash:
To recap, for the attacking side arrives Maverick, the new blowtorch-wielding hardbreach operator who is capable of melting down almost anything for easy kill holes. However, he will have issues making large entry holes due to the gadget"s slow cutting speed and the low fuel capacity. Meanwhile, Clash is the game"s very first shield carrying operator for defense, and the tasers attached to the device can slightly damage and heavily slow down any attackers who are unlucky enough to get hit.
The Consulate map has received some changes as well, with it receiving a fourth bomb site and a change in layout to reduce spawn peaking angles. Some other highlights that Ubisoft focused on include the longtime-coming weapon sight misalignment fix, giving players a random operator instead of default recruit when one isn"t chosen in time, changes to hatch reinforcements, as well as the new Frost Elite skin.
Operation Grim Sky does not have an exact release date just yet, but PC players will be able to jump in and test out all of the aforementioned features and more starting tomorrow August 20 via the Rainbow Six Siege test servers. The official changelog should also land around this time.
