Our good friends at Activision continue to see the "Hero" series of games as a money making machine, and there is no signs of this frame of thought disappearing any time soon. Eurogamer is reporting that four (yes, four) more "Hero" games are in the pipeline. Not only that, they"ll all be out by the year"s end.
What are the games in question? Well, firstly, Guitar Hero 5 (supposedly a working title), which is heading for a September release. DJ Hero is on the way for October, as well as Band Hero (are they serious?) in November. What"s the last one, you ask? Glad you asked; it"s none other than Hard Rock Van Halen, a music game based on, you guessed it, Van Halen. It"s interesting to see whole games being created for single musicians/bands, like the upcoming Beatles-themed games, as well as Guitar Hero: Metallica.
These games are all going to be released for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PS2, as well as another DS title that will be out by the years end. Personally, I hope they come out with a solid music game that gets rave reviews, and then leave it there, giving it occasional updates and a ton of new songs. What do you guys think? Too many music games, or is this just the beginning?
