If the Razer Blade Pro, which launched late last year, made your eyes water with its $4,000 price point, and you demand nothing less than a 17.3-inch display, you might just be in luck as the company announced a new lower-tiered model which will come in at a much more palatable $2,299.
The new model will feature a 120Hz IPS matte non-touch display with a Full HD resolution, which is a step down from the higher-end model that came in at 4K. Moreover, the device will feature a GTX 1060 with 6GB VRAM, instead of the higher-end GTX 1080 which is sported by its bigger brother. According to the press release, the device will also feature several of Nvidia"s leading VR technologies right out of the box:
The Razer Blade Pro with GeForce GTX 1060 is also VR-ready. Experience games with next-generation VR performance, the lowest latency, and plug-and-play compatibility with leading headsets—driven by NVIDIA VRWorks™ technologies. Gamers can enjoy breakthrough features such as NVIDIA Shadowplay™ and Ansel™ to capture and share gameplay and in-game shots that can be viewed in 360 degrees.
Besides these changes, the Razer Blade Pro will feature fairly standard specifications - for a gaming laptop at this price - including a Core i7-7700HQ quad core CPU, clocked in at 2.8GHz with a 3.8GHz boost, and 16GB of dual-channel DDR4 2400MHz RAM, which can be expanded by the user.
Build quality wise, it retains the svelte design language Razer is known for, with the device coming in at a skinny 22.5mm (0.88-inch). It will have the standard aluminum unibody design that fans have come to expect, and beyond that, the keyboard will continue the trend and incorporate the Chroma backlit keyboard with full RGB color options that the company is known for.
