Razer has a wide variety of products for gamers, from mice to keyboards, headsets, and most recently, phones. One of the key features of the company"s products is Chroma, an RGB lighting system that can be controlled through Razer"s dedicated software and sync across all of your accessories and components, and even the Razer Phone 2.
A lot of devices already support Chroma, and the company has even made partnerships to take it behind gaming peripherals alone, integrating the feature into Philips" Hue smart bulbs. But it looks like the company is going even further. Min-Liang Tan, CEO of Razer, today announced through Instagram that it"s partnering with Chinese startup Leapmotor to bring Chroma lighting to its cars.
You may be wondering why this would be necessary, and you"d be right to do so, as we don"t know either. Also unknown is exactly where in the cars this lighting system will be visible. Presumably, headlights and other external lights shouldn"t be customizable for the sake of road safety, so this will all be happening inside the car, but it"s unclear just how far it will go.
Other details are also scarce - Tan didn"t reveal which cars would be getting the feature or when. It"s also unlikely that users around the world will be able to enjoy this since the company is based in China. However, the precedent is set, so it could be a matter of time until brands with more international presence join the fray.
