It was only a few days ago that Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan took to Facebook to reveal details about improvements that were coming to the Razer Phone. Now, the CEO has once again shared some thoughts on Facebook, responding to criticism in regards to the smartphone not having a proper headphone jack.
It is always a big decision when it comes to removing a headphone jack from a smartphone, but the general consensus, for now, is that it is a negative move towards consumers. Razer tried to back up the decision by stating that the removal of the jack from the phone allowed the company to add a larger battery, with an increase of around 500mAh. It also states that it was able to improve thermals that make for better performance
Tan was also quick to mention that despite the phone not having a headphone jack, Razer made sure to include a dedicated 24-Bit THX Certified DAC adapter with every phone, so that users could get the best possible experience, better than a standard audio jack. While these are excellent points, as long as there are companies like Samsung and LG that are including it, it will almost always be seen as a hostile move.
