Razer has been on a spree of new product releases for the past couple of weeks, and it isn"t done yet. Today, it introduced the latest members of the Kraken family of headsets, the Kraken Ultimate and the Kraken X USB. The latter is simply a USB version of the Kraken X launched in the summer, and it adds backlighting to the Razer logo on the earcups. It costs $59.99 or €79.99.
The highlight of the announcements is the Kraken Ultimate, which follows the same naming scheme Razer used for its high-end Basilisk mouse last week. As the range-topper of the Kraken line, the Kraken Ultimate features 50mm custom-tuned drivers with support for THX Spatial Audio, which promises to be better than regular 7.1 surround sound. It also features a Discord-certified microphone with active noise canceling for additional voice clarity in multiplayer games.
In terms of design, the Kraken Ultimate features an aluminum and steel construction, with gel-infused soft padding on the earcups and the headband. It also features a hidden eyewear channel for users that wear glasses. In addition, the earcups feature Razer Chroma lighting, but instead of lighting up the logo, there"s a big circle around the logo that lights up.
The Razer Kraken Ultimate is available today for $129.99 or €149.99 from Razer"s website and other retailers. The Kraken X USB is also available today.
