Orders on Razer"s online store that were made via a fake 90 percent coupon code earlier this week will be honored by the PC hardware and accessories company in most cases. The coupon was created by an unnamed third party site to test Razer"s store but managed to get out in the wild a few days ago.
In a post on his Facebook page, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan states says that "thousands of orders were placed in the space of a couple of hours" with that code before the company shut down the site entirely. Technically, Razer does have the right to cancel all those orders, but Tan said that the company has made the decision to honor the orders made with the 90 percent coupon code, even though he admits that it will "cost us an insane amount of losses." He adds that it will take a few weeks to a few months to get through all of those orders.
There is one small caveat: Tan said that Razer will honor the orders just for single unit orders of products. People who ordered multiple units for a single product with the code will still be given an opportunity to get the 90 percent off price for just one unit of each product. Tan added, "Our focus is on doing the right thing for our fans, the gamers and the community, not for resellers or users to profit from this. That’s not gaming, that’s not our deal."
