The PR debacle over the faked image stabilization video for Nokia"s upcoming Lumia 920 is still fresh on the minds of many smartphone consumers. Today, a website got a chance to try out a real prototype of Nokia"s future Windows Phone 8 device to see if the PureView image stabilization hardware works as advertized.
Engadget posted the video earlier today, which was filmed at Nokia"s offices in Finland. The prototype Lumia 920 was set up on a makeshift rig and placed next to Apple"s newly launched iPhone 5.
As you can see in the split screen video, the footage taken from the iPhone 5 definaely has more "shakes" compared to the footage from the Lumia 920, although it"s also clearly not quite as spectacular as the faked Nokia marketing video from a few weeks ago.
Keep in mind that the footage from the Lumia 920 device came from prototype hardware and software. It"s likely that video footage will be better when the final hardware version of the Lumia 920 is launched. Nokia is still staying mum on specific launch date and price details, although it is highly likely that the Lumia 920 will go on sale sometime in November.
