Realme 3 lanched with Helio P70, dual cameras and $130 price tag

Just six months following the launch of the Realme 2, the Indian upstart brand is launching its next generation phone, the Realme 3. The phone, much like the U1 model unveiled last November, features a MediaTek Helio P70 processor, placing it squarely in the midrange of the smartphone market.

Aside from this, the phone is powered by a generous 4,230mAh battery paired with ColorOS 6.0 (which is based on Android 9.0 Pie). The front of the phone boasts a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a teardrop notch and a 13MP front camera. The back features a dual-camera setup, with a 2MP sensor augmenting the main 13MP camera.

The phone is available in three different colours - Dynamic Black, Radiant Blue and Classic Black - and will available for retail in India on Flipkart. The sale will start on March 12 at 12PM, Indian time. It will be available in two variants, a 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage that"ll go for ₹8,999 ($127) and a 4GB/64GB model that costs ₹10,999 ($155). Dual SIM capability is supported by the midranger, and its internal storage can also be expanded by up to 256GB.

The phone will likely also make its way outside India at some point in the future, as Realme has been expanding quite aggressively in Southeast Asian markets for the last few months.

If the phone seems a little disappointing given its similarities to the U1 - at least in terms of processing power - the company did tease another handset today, the Realme 3 Pro, which it says will up the ante a bit. We"ll need to wait till April for an official announcement, though.
