Realme launches X7 Max 5G with 120Hz AMOLED display and 50W charging support

Realme has unveiled its latest mid-range smartphone X7 Max 5G in India. As per the brand, the handset sets itself apart by delivering premium features such as a high refresh-rate AMOLED screen, 64MP camera, 5G, and 50W fast-charging support at a competitive price.

The X7 Max 5G comes in Asteroid Black, Mercury Silver, and Milky Way hues at the launch. The phone has a plastic back and it has a matte finish separated by a glossy band that accommodates a protruding camera module and branding.

The phone sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. Unlike LCD panels that rely on LEDs for backlighting, each pixel in OLED screens is self-illuminated. Thus, these panels can selectively turn off individual pixels to render deep blacks. As a result, you get excellent contrast while skirting around issues such as light bleeding and patchy brightness associated with LCD tech. Moreover, Realme has included a display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and it also features a 360Hz touch sampling rate, which should come in handy for gaming.

The display has a punch-hole display that holds a 16MP selfie camera. Moving around the back, you get a 64MP camera accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and finally a 2MP macro sensor.

At the core of the phone is MediaTek"s Dimensity 1200 chipset. Based on the 6nm fabrication process, this SoC (System on Chip) is coupled with ARM G77 MC9 GPU. Realme claims that the phone"s vapor cooling can reduce core temperature by up to 15°C for sustained performance.

Other features include stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 5G with dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and GPS. On the software side of things, the X7 Max 5G runs Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 on top. The phone houses a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 50W fast charging. According to Realme, the bundled charger can juice up 50 percent battery in 16 minutes.

The Realme X7 Max 5G will be available for purchase on June 4. The base model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage is pegged at Rs 26,999, which roughly translates to $370. For 12 GB + 256 GB model, you will have to shell out Rs 29,999 (approx $413).
