The guys at who helped develop VNC at AT&T have released a new web site for the VNC community, RealVNC.com.
- RealVNC is a new venture founded and staffed by the original AT&T team who created VNC. The mission of RealVNC is to act as the focal point for open source VNC.
We are continuing to improve VNC with our own new features and by evaluating features developed by others in the open source community and incorporating the best of them into the official codebase.
New features and bug fixes will be released on a regular basis.
The two computers don"t even have to be the same type, so for example you can use VNC to view an office Linux machine on your Windows PC at home.
VNC is freely and publicly available and is in widespread active use by millions throughout industry, academia and privately.
New in RealVNC 3.3.4 :- Better encoding and pixel format based on line speed, new encoding format - ZRLE for slow links, and better HTTP standards compliant and numerous bugs squashed! Documentation has also been updated to a more cleaner and more standard looking approach, the Windows Viewer and Server documentation is especially very comprehensive and shows lots of screen shots and examples... Excellent work!
