There was great disappointment in January when it emerged that ReCore had been delayed until the second half of 2016. But now, the long wait for the new game has finally come to an end.
Today, ReCore is officially available in North America, Latin America and most parts of Asia. It will launch in Europe on Thursday, with availability extending to other markets around the world on Friday.
Describing it as "an original action-adventure game crafted for the modern generation", Joseph Staten, Senior Creative Director for ReCore, added:
ReCore builds on our shared passion for classic games like MegaMan and Metroid with features such as a deep crafting system and a large world to explore. The bond between the game’s heroine, Joule Adams, and her charming ”Corebot” companions, Mack, Seth and Duncan, are the heart-and-soul of ReCore’s gameplay as well as its story. We hope you enjoy these characters’ many adventures on the planet ”Far Eden”, where dangers, mysteries and challenges await in its windswept dunes and hidden dungeons.
ReCore is also the first game to include support for the new Xbox Play Anywhere program, which lets people buy a game once and play it on both their Xbox One consoles and Windows 10 PCs. Here are the recommended system requirements for those planning to play it on their PCs:
ReCore is priced at $39.99 USD / £29.99 GBP / €39.99 EUR, but buyers will also have the option of purchasing the $179.99 ReCore Limited Collector"s Edition, which includes "hand-finished and painted statues of Joule and the Mack".
The game can be purchased as a download from the Windows Store, or on disc from the Microsoft Store.
