We all know what a mouse for the PC desktop is supposed to look like, more or less. Even though there are a ton of variations, the basic shape of the mouse hasn"t changed much. Logitech hopes to change that, and turn some heads at the same time, with today"s announcement of the Logitech Cube wireless PC mouse.
As you can see in the above image, the Logitech Cube isn"t really a cube at all but a rectangular device that is also very small. It can fit inside the palm of most adults" hand. The main panel of the Logitech Cube is used to scroll through PC documents via the touch of a finger. Logitech claims that the experience is more like scrolling through a touch screen interface than that of a PC.
The Logitech Cube can also be used if you have a slide screen presentation on your PC. The mouse is designed to work in presenter mode simply by lifting the mouse into the air and then clicking on the top of the mouse to move through the slides.
The Logitech Cube comes in both white and black colors. It is scheduled to be released later this month with pre-orders now being taken for $69.99.
