Rockstar seems to have another mega-hit on its hands with Red Dead Redemption 2, as fans" excitement leading up to its October 26 launch reaches fever pitch. While not as exciting as the gameplay reveal we were treated to last month, a trickle of new information has now revealed the storage requirements for the game.
A new Red Dead Redemption 2 bundle for the PS4 Pro announced by Sony and Rockstar shows the game will take at least a massive 105GB chunk out of your available storage, making it among one of the largest games released on consoles. In comparison, Assassin"s Creed Odyssey only requires 45GB of free space on consoles, making Rockstar"s game more than twice the size of one of the biggest AAA open-world titles to be released this year.
It"s unclear at this point if the storage requirements may differ for PC or the regular PS4 and Xbox One, and whether or not the stated numbers include the additional content that will be released for Red Dead Online.
The packaging of the bundle also revealed another tidbit about Red Dead Online, the online component to the game which will be available one month after the game"s launch. It seems Rockstar is focusing on quality over quantity this time around, and will only allow up to 32 players in its online multiplayer mode, compared to the larger player cap on GTA Online.
With exactly 30 days to go before the game"s launch, you can get your Red Dead Redemption fix in the meantime by checking out this trailer for the game. Otherwise, you might want to start planning to free up some space on your gaming device of choice ahead of the title"s launch.
