Red Magic begins its Indiegogo campaign, unable to cater those in North America

Red Magic debuted its smartphone last week and has now made it available through Indiegogo via its campaign. The project can be backed starting at $399.

Currently, there are different versions of the phone available as perks, one with Red Magic OS, meant for the Chinese market, the other with stock Android with Google services. At the moment, it looks like the firm is not shipping units to North America, citing that "the team is still working to perfect the Red Magic for the region". Instead of purchasing the phone, those in North America can purchase a voucher for $9 that will give them $50 off the future purchase of the handset.

Just in case you needed a refresher, the Red Magic Phone offers:

  • 5.99-inch 1080p 18:9 display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor
  • 8GB RAM
  • 24MP rear camera with 4K recording, 8MP front-facing camera
  • 128 GB of UFS2.1 internal storage
  • USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack
  • 3,800mAh battery
  • Android 8.1 Oreo
  • 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4/5 GHz, MIMO 2x2 . | Bluetooth 5.0

If you want to contribute to the campaign, you can do so by heading to the source link below. Though remember, much like any item that is crowdfunded, your contribution does not guarantee you will receive a finished product in the end.
