Last month, nubia announced the latest member of the RedMagic family of gaming smartphones, the RedMagic 5S, which launched in China earlier in the month. Like other RedMagic phones, it was known that it would eventually come to international markets, and now we have a better idea of when that will happen. Today, the company announced that it will open preorders for the international variant of the RedMagic 5S on August 26.
RedMagic isn"t revealing the price of the new phone just yet, but we do know pretty much everything about the specs. It"s still powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset, rather than the Snapdragon 865+, but it has a significantly improved cooling system thanks to the world"s first implementation of silver as a cooling element in a smartphone. Unlike the Chinese version, the phone maxes out at 12GB of RAM, though it"s possible that a version with 16GB of RAM will launch later. It also has up to 256GB of storage.
Another big element of this launch is the Ice Dock, a new cooling system that adds an external fan on top of the internal one. It promises to cool down the phone by up to 25ºC, which should help with sustained performance.
If you want to learn all about the phone, you can check out the product page that launched today, and you can also win one by participating in the RedMagic 5th Space competition, which entered its second round today. The list of prizes includes four units of the RedMagic 5S, discount coupons, or a protective case for the phone.
