Redmi 9A to go on sale in India starting September 4

Xiaomi"s sub-brand Redmi recently introduced the Redmi 9 in India. Following suit, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is scheduled to launch the Redmi 9A in the region on September 2. Redmi India has been teasing the upcoming launch on its Twitter handle for quite a few days now, along with subtle hints of an upcoming Redmi wired earphone set.

With the launch fast approaching, Amazon India has started sharing marketing images for the upcoming Redmi device on its online store. This has revealed that residents of India will be able to purchase the Redmi 9A two days after it launches, from September 4 onwards.

Apart from the day the device goes on sale sales, Amazon India"s promotional pictures also advertise features of the Redmi 9A, stating (translated from Hindi) that the smartphone will have a large screen, more battery life, excellent performance and magnificent photography.

When it comes to the features and specifications of the Redmi 9A, it is likely that the Indian release will bear similarities to the European version which made its debut last month. The EU variant launched with a price tag of €99 and comes in three color options, Granite Gray, Peacock Green, and Sky Blue. It"s powered by the MediaTek Helio G25, has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a teardrop notch and a 5000mAh battery.

On the European model, the 9A sports a mediocre 13MP main camera coupled with a 5MP front snapper. Keeping the promotional posters in mind, it is a possibility that the Indian Redmi 9A may launch with slightly better specs, especially the camera, and possibly a slightly higher price tag. All will become clear in a day"s time.

The Redmi 9A is set to debut in India on September 2 at 12:00 PM local time. Those who interested in keeping up to date about the release may do so by visiting the Xiaomi India website, where the smartphone will be unveiled during a virtual event.
