A number of renders have leaked online in China which claim to show the upcoming Moto Droid Turbo 3, a high-end device that’s expected to launch soon.
The original Droid Turbo was launched back in 2014 with a follow-up device coming one year later in October 2015. Destined for Verizon in the US, the Droid Turbo has always been one of Motorola’s, now owned by Lenovo, most powerful devices, packing very high-end specs. In fact, last year’s Droid Turbo 2 can still be considered top-of-the-line today, thanks to its 5.4-inch QHD display, 3GB of RAM and 3760 Li-ion battery.
Given the entire line of devices has been fairly impressive so far, there’s little wonder that fans are excited for the upcoming Droid Turbo 3. And if these leaked renders are close to the real device, then they have a lot to be excited about.
As you can see the renders depict a very sleek-looking device, with a simple and clean design. Unlike previous Droid Turbo iterations, this device is a lot more ‘blocky’, opting for straight lines and a textured back.
Unfortunately, besides looking at the back of the device there’s little extra information to be gathered from these shots. Of course, there’s the 16-megapixel Hasselblad camera there on the back, which makes some sense given Hasselblad makes some of the Moto Z camera Mods.
And speaking of Mods, some of these images seem to show connecting pins, for some type of external accessory, which might indicate a new series of peripherals is on the way too.
Of course, you should take this with a massive amount of salt. These renders seem to be closer to someone’s wish list for the next Droid Turbo rather than an actual device coming to market, but we’ll keep our minds open until we hear something official from Lenovo.
