Samsung aims to sell 320 million smartphones, 40 million feature phones, 20 million tablets and 5 million wearable devices this year, according to a new report citing industry sources. Surprisingly, the smartphone projections are similar to what the company has sold last year.
Despite keeping the estimates similar to last year, the firm still outpaces Huawei and Apple, which are among the top three smartphone manufacturers globally, with the former selling 150 million units, and the latter 200 million.
Samsung"s current flagship device pair, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, has been quite popular ever since its launch last year. Reports hinted that Galaxy S8 was among the most popular smartphones in the second quarter of 2017.
Latest rumors suggest that the South Korean company is already working on its next flagship device, which is expected to launch next month, possibly at Mobile World Congress. The alleged device has passed through the FCC certification process, which is usually the last stop before the handset hits retail.
Previous rumors hint at it sporting 4GB or 6GB of RAM, an Exynos 9810 for the international variant and a Snapdragon 845 for the U.S., a 12MP dual camera setup on the back, a fingerprint sensor, 8MP front-facing camera, a 3,100mAh battery, and Android 8.0 Oreo.
