A report called "The State of the Console," conducted by the recently launched Nielsen Wireless and Interactive Services division, claims that video game consoles are now in 41% of U.S. homes, an 18.5% increase from Q4 2004 to Q4 2006. Almost 46 million homes had consoles in them by the last quarter of 2006, which equates to about 150 million people having access to a console. At any moment during the day, 1.6 million people can be found using a video game console system. Furthermore, console owners also spend an average of 2 hours and 15 minutes per day gaming while two-thirds of men between the ages of 18 and 34 in television households also have access to game consoles. Console gamers are also increasingly using the Internet while gaming, with more than 4.4 million households connecting to the Internet.
